Pearl Thusi Stars In Netflix Original, 'Queen Sono'

When it comes to investing in content, next to nobody knows better than Netflix. The streaming service has to keep things fresh for their 150 million watchers and their Netflix Original Series are the perfect way to do it. South African audiences will be pleased to see some familiar faces grace their screens in the latest Netflix Orginal Series, Queen Sono.

Starring Pearl Thusi, Queen Sono is an action-packed, thriller about the life of an African spy on a quest to uncover the truth about her mother’s death. A few other familiar faces in the series are those of Abigail Khubekha, Vuyo Dabula, and Khathu Ramabulana to name a few. Queen Sono brings Kagiso Lediga, comic, actor, and director, back to the scene after his most recent production, Matwetwe (2017).

Many may remember Lediga from his last major on-screen role as Pearl Thusi’s love interest in Catching Feelings (2017). Queen Sono also sees him return to work with his long time production partner, Tamsin Andersson, who worked with him on Matwetwe and Catching Feelings.

Queen Sono is set to debut on Netflix on February 28, 2020. Until then, the content counts of Netflix have created a few character sketches to hold viewers until the release. Check them out below!
