The Sobering Podcast is in their fourth season, an accomplishment for any podcasters in the culture space. To kick off their fourth season and the new year, 2020, The Sobering sat down with someone whom they describe as “the best rapper right now,” Maglera Doe Boy.

According to the hosts, Maglera is “one of South Africa’s most promising wordsmith[s].” He took South Africa’s hip-hop scene by storm with his foray into the entertainment industry. While seated with the hosts of The Sobering, the “Bodega” rapper discusses his upbringing in Kanana – a drug plagued, violent crime rampant, underdeveloped township of Klerksdorp, North West.
