The 2020 SAFTA Nominations Are Out
At the Mall of Africa, hosted by Katlego Maboe, the 14th Annual South African Film & Television Award nominations were announced and broadcasted live (video below). Devoid of the pomp and splendor viewers are to expect on the night of the award ceremony, the nominations saw appearances by cast members of The Queen, multiple nominations for the teams behind shows like The River, Arendsvlei, and more!
The 14th South African Film and Television Awards will be hosted at Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Centre over two-nights: Craft Awards on Friday, 27 March 2020 and Main Awards on Saturday, 28 March 2020 – with the Saturday show broadcast live on television.
This year, viewers and fans will be able to decide who takes home the Best TV Presenter and the Most Popular Soap/Telenovela awards via public vote. To cast your vote, dial
* 120 * 45884 # then follow the prompts on the screen. There is a competition this year wherein a voter chosen at random will win fuel worth R 4,000 for a one year period, courtesy of Total SA. Votes can be submitted from February 17, 2020 and close on March 28, 2020.
