Festival living is the best kind of living if you ask us! Surrounded by good music, beautiful people, the perfect cocktails, and fashion-forward guests make for some of the interesting elements of any given festival. With Cotton Festival behind us, there are still a few festivals to look forward to over the next few months!
Lighthouse Festival
The Lighthouse Festival started in Croatia and has since made its way to Cape Town and Johannesburg. Focused on electronic music, this festival is a one-day event making space for a generally underrepresented genre in South Africa. This year, Vogue Nights Jozi, founded by Lelowhatsgood, partnered with Lighthouse Festival to curate a queer, inclusive, and intersectional nightlife experience at the festival. The lineup includes Darkie Fiction, DJ Okapi, Floyd Lavine, HVOB, Jazzuelle, Jullian Gomes, K-$, Leeu &, Lazarusman, Lichterloh. Muallem, Paquita Gordon, Rose Bonica, The Fogshow, Thomé, Thor Rixon, Vince, and Zolabuddé. Voguing Nights Jozi will bring A Very Cool Time, Ang, Lelowhatsgood and Mx blouse, as performing acts during their set.

UMI: Our Music Festival
Founded by Nandi Dlepu, better known online as Mamakashaka, UMI is part of the Feel Good Series and exists as a “micro music festival.” In the spirit of Feel Good Series and any Mamakashaka event, guests are sure to be entertained, well-fed, and beautiful. UMI covers art, film, and music; featuring live performances by Bongeziwe Mabandla, The Charles Gene Suite, Lazarus Man, ByLwansta, and Koeksista. DJs set to perform at the festival include Uncle Partytime, Slice Frederico, Ang, and more.

Ultra Music Festival
Electronic dance music can be traced back to the mid-1980s in the United States, and today the Ultra Music Festival caters to EDM lovers around the world. This year, the festival brings forward headliners like Afrojack, Black Coffee, Dash Berlin, DJ Snake, James Jones, Luciano, and Steve Aoki. Budweiser and 5FM will be curating their own stages as well, making what is often a traditional EDM festival more open to lovers of other genres like hip-hop, amapiano, and more.

Italian Festival at Idiom
Italian food is widely received and much enjoyed around the world; so it makes sense that there would be a festival dedicated to the culture of Italy. At Idiom Wine Estate guests will be treated to Italian activities, food, drinks, and music. As a family friendly festival, everyone is sure to enjoy amazing food, fun in the sun, and for the true Italian cuisine lovers, opportunity to learn a few tricks to spice up your dinners at home.

Bacardi Holiday Club
Until Until has been revered for years where their events are concerned. The Bacardi Holiday Club is the only event of theirs where party-goers can enjoy a sleepover and the type of musical lineup that many have come to associate with Until Until. This year, the lineup features the likes of TKzee, Tshego, PH, DBN Gogo, Femi Koya, King Olwee, and many more. Unfortunately, this festival has already sold out, but there are a few resellers floating around social media, so gird your loins and prepare to open your wallets if you’re looking to attend the festival!

Cape Town International Jazz Fest
One of the greatest jazz festivals in the world is the renowned Cape Town International Jazz Fest. Every year, jazz lovers flock to Cape Town, South Africa to take in the joys of the world of jazz. As per usual, the lineup is far too impressive and loaded with stellar acts to single out a few; however, some crowd favorites include Johnathan Butler, Mandisa Dyantyis, Lira, Earl Sweatshirt, and PJ Morton.
