Luna Elle is crazy off love for her amapiano debut

At this point, there’s no shore amapiano will leave uninspired. For Ghanaian-Canadian singer, Luna Elle, stumbling across South African Felo Le Tee’s “66” was the difference between being interested in a genre and wanting to make music of that genre.

After the 2021 release of her R&B debut EP, L.O.V.E (Loss Of Valuable Energy), her reception in Canada and the United States have been favorable. The EP saw Luna waxing lyrical about love’s less romantic elements - essentially, a record best written under duress of heart pain. As far as narratives go, Luna has sought upbeat soundscapes to describe the post-breakup glow up she suggests in “Crazy”.

Produced by UK based DJ Kwamzy and Durban, South Africa based Tonic Motion, Luna Elle’s amapiano debut sees her croon “I can think a little bit clearer // And it’s easy for me to see // I was drunk all over your love baby”. “Crazy” marks her first attempt at amapiano, which she hopes to expand further. Lyrically to the point and vocally solid, Luna Elle’s first attempt at an amapiano record shows promise.
